However, a new survey by language experts at Preply reveals that some of these emails are certain to cause eyerolls and annoyance for their recipients. Setting out to discover attitudes towards out of office email responses, the survey found that over half of UK workers state they have received an annoying or inappropriate automated response in the past — i.e. those deemed unprofessional, overly lengthy, irrelevant to work, containing excessive use of humour, or including unrelated personal details. The research also unveiled which phrases we apparently hate to see in these emails the most, with ‘sorry, not sorry’ coming out on top, followed by ‘playing hooky’ and ‘sipping cocktails on a beach’. So, if you are planning to set up an automated response as you take well-earned time off this month, Frazer suggests keeping it simple! 46 Business Link www.blmforum.net Wining and dining amongst the stars Wining and dining clients has long been a common practice, but now you can take it to new heights — literally! Allowing you to eat amongst the stars, luxury space travel company, SpaceVIP, has teamed up with chef, Rasmus Munk, to float you 100,000 feet above sea level on a six-hour experience with a Michelin-starred meal. Taking place in a capsule lifted into the sky by a space balloon, those onboard will even have access to Wi-Fi — perhaps to catch up on a few emails! The downside is the price tag, which stands at $495,000 per-person. But just imagine enjoying cocktails as you view the curvature of the Earth. © stock.adobe.com/dimazel © stock.adobe.com/Shinonome Studio Quit-Tok A workplace trend popular among Gen Z has been found all over Frazer’s social media lately; a form of loud quitting called ‘Quit-Tok’. From funny instances to the infuriating, which will make you gasp at how poorly some businesses treat staff, individuals are sharing their stories of redundancy and resignation, using personal accounts to showcase what they see as unjust or unfavourable working experiences. It illustrates a shift in power within the modern workplace, with employees unapologetically sharing their narratives to demand accountability from employers, even if some instances are being claimed as simply a way to gain social media followers. In numerous cases these clips rightly show up businesses with bad working conditions or company cultures, but with many covertly recording conversations with bosses, it also raises concerns over legal ramifications or future employment repercussions for those telling their stories. Putting businesses and their practices in the firing line, it would be wise for leaders to review their company environment and dismissal procedures, or instead fall victim to a reputation ruining TikTok video. © stock.adobe.com/ chathupornCONVENTIONAL NDT •X-Radiography & Gamma Radiography •Computed and Digital Radiography •Close Proximity Radiography •Ultrasonic Inspection •Magnetic Particle Inspection •Dye Penetrant Inspection •Eddy Current & Eddy Current Array •Positive Material Identification (PMI) •Hardness Testing •Ferrite Testing •ACFM Inspection •Vacuum Box Testing ADDITIONAL SERVICES •Rope Access •Heat Treatment •Pressure Testing •Welding Inspection •Materials Laboratory (ISO 17025) •Welder Training •Failure Investigations INSPECTION AND TESTING SERVICES ISO/IEC 17020 / ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 / OHSAS 18001 For all enquiries please TELEPHONE: 01469 575728 | Email: ukinfo@irisndt.com | www.irisndt.co.uk CHATHAM | DERBY | DEESIDE | HULL | IMMINGHAM | PEMBROKE DOCK | STOCKTON-ON-TEES ADVANCED NDT •Remote Robotic Inspections – Visual & UT •Drone Surveys – Internal and External •Laser Scanning •Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing •Time of Flight Diffraction (TOFD) •AUT & PAUT Corrosion Mapping •Tube Inspection (IRIS, ECT, RFT, NFA) •Guided Wave Testing – Long Range UT •QSR1 – Corrosion Under Pipe Supports •MFL – Tank Floors and Pipelines •HTHA Inspections (TOFD, TFM, PAUT & TULA) ASSET INTEGRITY ENGINEERING •Pressure System Inspections •Storage Tank Inspections •Pipeline Inspections •Out of Service and In-Service Inspections •Category 1, 2 & 3 Inspectors •Written Schemes of Examination (WSE’s) •Fitness for Service (FFS) Assessments •Engineering Calculations •Maxi-Trak Field Services (Customized Software) •Bund Surveys IRISNDT is a leading provider of Asset Integrity Engineering, Non-Destructive Testing, Heat Treatment and Laboratory services.
