< PreviousMaserati MC20 Review Breathing new life into the iconic marque The Maserati MC20 is breathtaking. It has breathed new life into the iconic marque, which has thrilled aficionados with its blend of power and luxury for years. At the centre of the MC20 is the groundbreaking Nettuno engine - a 630 horsepower V6 wonder that produces an incredible 0-62mph in just under 2.9 seconds and a top speed of more than 200mph. This new generation powerplant is especially significant because it represents Maserati’s return to in- house engine manufacturing after over two decades. The Nettuno is a gem and incorporates Maserati Twin Combustion (MTC) technology. The MC20, which weighs less than 1,500 kg, boasts a weight-to-power ratio of merely 2.33 kg/hp thanks to the employment of high-quality materials such as carbon fibre. The styling of the Italian car combines athleticism and refinement, a nod to history, and a hint of what is to come. Its edgy lines and butterfly doors are not merely an affectation; they are also an ergonomic benefit in the guise of easy access to the interior. Plus, with its aerodynamic shape, which replaces unnecessary complexity with a minimalistic rear spoiler, the MC20 has a respectable drag coefficient of less than 0.38. Inside, it’s all about the driver: The uncluttered, effective design features two 10-inch screens on either side of a centre console constructed from carbon fibre. The controls you need are neatly to hand and positioned to not distract you from the road. Driving modes GT, Wet, Sport, and Corsa are great for different road conditions; with them, you can anticipate a more responsive ride explicitly tailored to each. There are clear references to the MC12, the beast with which Maserati returned to racing in 2004, both in terms of appearance and concept. Like its forerunner, the MC20 heralds the desire to return to competition with its racing spirit, which is evident from its name alone. The MC20 not only reinvents Maserati’s performance line-up, then - but also commences the next chapter of glory for this legendary brand. This dazzling supercar is already shaking the world of high-performance cars - and will undoubtedly do so for a long time to come. 40 Business Link www.blmforum.net AUTOLINKFast Facts Maserati MC20 Max speed: 202 mph 0-62 mph: 2.9 secs Fuel economy: 24-25 mpg Engine layout: 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 Power (PS): 630 CO2: 262 g/km Priced from: £227,000 On the Road www.blmforum.net Business Link 41 AUTOLINK42 Business Link www.blmforum.net events Doncaster Marketing Forum Wednesday 9 April Doncaster Dome, Doncaster At this event for marketing professionals, sit with the pros, ask burning questions, share experiences, and walk away with real insights to action for your business. The research proposes that superiors attempting to be funny can actually negatively impact job satisfaction! The University of Pennsylvania and London School of Economics and Political Science have uncovered that bosses making frequent use of jokes and puns can cause emotional exhaustion, with such behaviour putting pressure on workers to engage in “surface acting” to fake or exaggerate positive emotions, to meet their bosses’ expectations of getting a laugh. A pun every now and again may well be fine, but Frazer would suggest avoiding becoming the office comedian. © stock.adobe.com/bnenin Fool’s Day fun April Fool’s Day has come and gone once more, and with it a slog of businesses launched their “new products.” While these pranks can sometimes misfire, and cause eye rolls amongst one’s audience, Frazer still managed to have a chuckle this year. From OpenAI’s new ChatGPT voice that is annoyed over your incessant questions, to Ant and Dec’s new venture, Plank & Deck, Frazer’s favourite has to be Yahoo’s ‘touch grass’ keyboard, with 87 hand placed tufts of turf. “Built to bring the great outdoors right to your desk” so you can “take a break from meeting invites, circling back, and the millions of tabs you have open,” Yahoo invited us all to “touch grass like never before” with its Agricultural Interface, to “look productive while really just trying to ground yourself.” In a chronically online world, Frazer would like to request this keyboard for Business Link HQ! © stock.adobe.com/Pixel-Shot © stock.adobe.com/Marina Gordejeva Work wastefulness Do you leave lights on, boil a full kettle, or take the lift unnecessarily for a couple of floors at work? Then you may be among the crowd of employees who admit to being more wasteful at work than at home. A new poll shared by Smart Energy GB that has made its way into Frazer’s inbox reveals a third of small business staff are more wasteful at the office than at home, with half admitting to leaving devices on standby, 49% keeping unused equipment plugged in, 48% boiling the kettle with more water than needed, and 38% leaving lights switched on in empty rooms, amongst other energy offences. Although this may make energy waste at work seem commonplace and a ‘norm’, 57% reckon they’d be confident enough to call out a colleague they spotted being wasteful!Whether it’s banner ads, headers, newsletters, podcasts or print campaigns from as little as £60 a month, please contact Angie Cooper T: 01472 310310 • E: a.cooper@blmgroup.co.uk www.blmforum.netWebsite:www.abports.co.uk Email:humber.commercial@abports.co.uk LinkedIn:AssociatedBritishPorts Website:www.abports.co.uk Email:humber.commercial@abports.co.uk LinkedIn:AssociatedBritishPorts Strategicportlocations Externalstorageland Warehousespace Weighbridges TASCCregisteredfacilities Expertiseinhandling Blending, screeningservices Roadandrailconnections AgriBulks Construction Projectcargo Steelandothermetals Forestproducts HumbertheUK’s#1gatewayfortrade AssociatedBritishPorts(ABP)HumberportsofImmingham,Grimsby, GooleandHullhandlemorethan58milliontonnesofcargoayear.
