Paul Beckett promoted to Sterling Capitol’s Board

Sterling Capitol, the Yorkshire property development company, has appointed Paul Beckett to its Board of Directors.

Paul Beckett, who joined the company in April 2019, is Sterling’s head of development.

The company, chaired by Sir Bob Murray CBE, owns and manages business parks across the county. It celebrates its 30th anniversary this year.

Paul, who studied real estate, joined Sterling Capitol from Cromwell Property Group, where he was asset and investment manager. He previously worked for property consultancy Carter Jonas in Leeds.

Paul said: “This is a tremendous honour. Since joining the company three years ago, I have been heavily involved in developing Capitol Park business parks in Leeds, Barnsley and Goole as well as promoting the Capitol Park brand throughout the north of England.

“Equally importantly, I have been delivering on strategy and executing the business plans for assets on Sterling’s existing investment portfolio. This has been fruitful and rewarding seeing new companies take space cementing our reputation as prime developers in the region.”

He added: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my three years at Sterling Capitol, working with within a friendly and tight-knit team. My promotion to the Board gives me added responsibility and a pivotal role in the company’s future, which looks extremely bright. I am thrilled to be part of it.”

Paul is currently working on a number of significant projects, including a 1,000,000 sq ft extension to Capitol Park Leeds, a 515,000 sq ft pre-let at Capitol Park Goole and the comprehensive £500,000 refurbishment of a flagship office headquarters building at Capitol Park East in Leeds.

Mike Heydecke, CEO of Sterling Capitol, said: “We are delighted to welcome Paul Beckett to the Sterling Board. Since Paul joined us just over three years ago, he has made a significant and wide-ranging impact on the business. He has been crucial to our on-going success.

“His deep knowledge of the property sector in the north of England, coupled with his lively intelligence, his energy, focus and drive, are vital as we tackle the opportunities and challenges ahead of us.

“Paul’s promotion is richly deserved. As one of the most respected property development companies in the region, we are focussed on building on what we have achieved over the past 30 years. Paul will play a pivotal role in taking Sterling forward and ensuring a bright and prosperous future.”
